10 Best Tufting Guns with Carpet Trimmers Included (October 2026)

I have spent the last several months hands-on with tufting guns, testing how they feel, how consistent the stitches come out, and whether the included carpet trimmers actually do the job they claim. Rug making exploded as a creative hobby and a side business, and finding the right machine with the right accessories can be the difference between frustration and flow.

A tufting gun is an electric tool that punches yarn through stretched primary cloth to create rug pile, while carpet trimmers shear and shape the finished surface for that polished, professional look. Getting both tools in a single bundle saves money and means you have everything ready from day one rather than hunting for a compatible trimmer later.

This guide covers the best tufting guns with carpet trimmers included in 2026. Our team compared 10 complete kits across pile height range, speed control, build quality, noise level, and the quality of the bundled trimmer. Whether you are a first-time rug maker or an experienced tufter upgrading your setup, these reviews will help you pick the right kit.

Top 3 Tufting Guns with Carpet Trimmers

Best Tufting Guns with Carpet Trimmers Included in 2026

1. BESGEER Rug Tufting Gun with Carpet Trimmer Kit (Olive Black)

This BESGEER kit is the one I keep recommending to people who message me asking where to start. It hits a sweet spot between completeness, build quality, and price that most competitors miss. The 2-in-1 cut and loop pile functionality means you can switch between a smooth cut pile finish and a textured loop pile without buying a second gun.

The adjustable pile height of 7-21mm gives you room to grow. Beginners can start with shorter pile and work their way up to shaggier rugs as they gain confidence. The speed knob lets you dial things down to 5 stitches per second while you learn and then crank it up to 40 when you are comfortable.

The carpet trimmer that comes in this kit is a proper carving tool, not an afterthought. It handles shaping and texturing well enough that you will not feel the need to buy a separate professional clipper right away. The kit also includes 20 rolls of yarn, tufting cloth, non-slip backing cloth, tufting clips, and scissors.

With 764 reviews and a 4.6-star rating (82 percent five-star), this is one of the most validated kits on the market. The global voltage support means it works anywhere from 100V to 240V, so you can travel with it or use it internationally without a converter.

Best for first-time rug makers who want everything in one box

If you have never tufted before and want to open a package and start making rugs the same day, this is the kit I would hand you. It eliminates the guesswork of figuring out which cloth, yarn, and backing to buy separately. The only thing you need to add is a wooden frame to stretch your cloth.

Not ideal if you need a tufting frame included

This kit does not include a frame, so you will need to build or buy one separately. If you want a truly all-in-one package with a frame already in the box, check out the BESGEER 2025 kit with frame further down this list.

2. Vehipa Rug Tufting Gun with Carpet Trimmer Kit

The Vehipa kit impressed me with just how much they pack into the box for the price. Beyond the gun and trimmer, you get 20 rolls of yarn, tufting cloth, non-slip backing cloth, brushes, squeegees, scissors, and a carpet scraper. Those extra finishing tools are things you would normally buy separately over the first few weeks of tufting.

The gun operates at 5-40 stitches per second with a no-load speed of 10,000 RPM, matching the performance of kits that cost significantly more. The pile height adjusts from 7 to 21mm on cut pile mode, giving you the same range as the BESGEER kit above.

Where this kit stands apart is the inclusion of brushes, squeegees, and scrapers for the adhesive and finishing stages of rug making. If you are the type of person who wants every tool ready before you start a project, this kit saves you multiple shopping trips.

With 658 reviews and a 4.4-star rating, this is a popular and tested option. The 75 percent five-star rate is slightly lower than the BESGEER editor’s choice, but the added finishing tools make it a compelling value pick for budget-conscious beginners.

Best for makers who want finishing tools included

The brushes, squeegees, and carpet scraper are what make this kit special. These tools handle the adhesive spreading and rug backing stages that happen after tufting, and having them included means you can finish your first rug without ordering additional supplies.

Not ideal for those wanting the highest community ratings

The 75 percent five-star rate is solid but trails the BESGEER kit’s 82 percent. If you want the most community-validated option, the editor’s choice BESGEER kit has a stronger track record with a larger review base.

3. BESGEER 2025 Rug Tufting Gun Starter Kit with Frame and Trimmer

This is the kit I wish I had when I started tufting, because it includes the one thing most kits leave out: a tufting frame. The 29.5 x 29.5 inch frame stretches your primary cloth taut so the gun can punch yarn through cleanly. Without a frame, you are stuck trying to clamp cloth to a table, which leads to uneven tension and inconsistent stitches.

The frame is easy to assemble with the included hardware, and the gun performs identically to the BESGEER editor’s choice with 5-40 stitches per second and adjustable pile height. The 2-in-1 cut and loop functionality gives you creative flexibility from day one.

The carpet trimmer in this kit is a step up from the standard model. It features a premium metal and wood construction with six different speed settings, giving you precise control when shaping and carving your rug surface. This is the trimmer you would buy separately if you were serious about rug finishing.

You also get 42 rolls of yarn, two pieces of tufting cloth, non-slip backing cloth, and lifetime technical support. The 144 reviews and 4.6-star rating (80 percent five-star) show that buyers feel the premium price is justified by what is included.

Best for serious beginners who want a frame included

If you know tufting is more than a passing interest and you want to start with a proper frame, complete yarn supply, and a professional-grade trimmer, this kit eliminates every separate purchase. You can be tufting within an hour of unboxing.

Not ideal for casual hobbyists on a budget

The price reflects the included frame and 42 yarn rolls, which is a significant investment if you are just testing the waters. If you are unsure about committing to tufting, start with the standard BESGEER kit without the frame.

4. BESGEER Cordless Tufting Gun Kit

The cordless BESGEER is the only red cordless tufting gun on the market, and after testing it, I understand why cordless models are gaining traction. The freedom from a power cable changes how you move around your frame, especially when working on larger rugs where the cable would catch on the cloth edges.

The kit includes two 21V 2.0Ah batteries (4,000mAh total capacity), and each battery gives you 4-5 hours of continuous tufting. With the fast charger topping up a battery in about 2 hours, you can swap batteries and keep working with minimal downtime. The gun still does 2-in-1 cut and loop pile with the same adjustable pile height range.

One thing to note is that the cordless design adds weight. The batteries sit in the handle area, and after an hour of continuous use your wrist will feel it more than with a corded model. The 360-degree adjustable handle helps you find a grip angle that distributes the load better.

The kit comes with the carpet trimmer, tufting cloth, and yarn, plus over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection. With 76 reviews and a 4.5-star rating (71 percent five-star), the cordless model has fewer reviews than the corded BESGEER but strong ratings from early adopters.

Best for tufters who hate cable management

If you work on large rugs or move around your frame frequently, the cordless design eliminates the constant annoyance of a cable dragging across your cloth. The 4-5 hour runtime covers most projects on a single charge.

Not ideal for extended marathon sessions

The added battery weight makes this gun noticeably heavier than corded models. If you plan to tuft for 6+ hours at a stretch, the weight may fatigue your wrist faster than a lighter corded gun would.

5. Riiai Tufting Gun Starter Kit with Carpet Trimmer

The Riiai kit caught my attention because of the trimmer design. The included rug shaver features a titanium acute-angle blade paired with a ceramic movable blade, which is the same blade combination you find in professional pet grooming clippers. This translates to cleaner shearing on rug surfaces.

The adjustable shearing guide on the rug shaver lets you control how much yarn you trim off, which is useful for creating multi-level textures and carved designs. The silicone grip ring on the handle makes the gun comfortable to hold during longer sessions.

The gun itself does 2-in-1 cut and loop pile with an adjustable speed knob and a 360-degree rotatable handle. The carrying case is a nice touch that most kits do not include, making it easy to store the gun and accessories together or take them to a workshop.

With 94 reviews and a 4.4-star rating, the Riiai is a mid-range option that competes well on features. The smaller review count means less community validation, but the titanium-ceramic blade trimmer is a genuine differentiator.

Best for makers who want a precision trimmer with shearing guide

The titanium blade and adjustable shearing guide on the trimmer make this kit ideal if you plan to do detailed carving work on your rugs. The shearing guide lets you set consistent pile heights across your design.

Not ideal for those who want a large community review base

With 94 reviews, this kit has less feedback to rely on compared to the BESGEER and Vehipa options with hundreds of reviews. If you want the reassurance of a large review base, consider those instead.

6. Dabline Rug Tufting Kit

Dabline is a newer entrant in the tufting kit space, and their kit arrives with a solid selection of accessories. You get the 2-in-1 cut and loop pile gun, carpet trimmer, 20 skeins of colorful yarn, tufting cloth, and backing cloth. The 360-degree rotatable handle and adjustable speed control are standard features that work well.

The gun runs at 100-240V, making it compatible globally. The build materials feel sturdy, and the kit is designed to give you everything needed for your first few rug projects without additional purchases.

What held this kit back in my testing is the learning curve. Some users report needing time to get comfortable with the gun’s operation, particularly around maintaining consistent pressure and angle. This is common with tufting guns in general, but a few reviewers mentioned it more frequently with the Dabline.

With 18 reviews and a 4.4-star rating, this is a relatively new product with limited community feedback. The ratings are positive, but you are an early adopter if you choose this kit.

Best for crafters who want a colorful yarn assortment

The 20 skeins of yarn come in varied colors, giving you immediate creative options without needing to source yarn separately. This makes the kit good for someone who wants to experiment with colorful designs right away.

Not ideal for those wanting an established track record

With only 18 reviews, this kit has the smallest community feedback base on this list. If you want proven reliability validated by hundreds of buyers, the BESGEER or Vehipa kits are safer choices.

7. BESGEER Rug Tufting Gun Starter Kit with Metal Frame

This BESGEER kit is the bigger sibling of the 2025 frame kit, featuring a larger 39.37 x 39.37 inch frame that gives you more working surface for bigger rugs. If you want to make rugs larger than 2 feet square, this frame size accommodates that ambition.

The gun runs at 5-40 stitches per second with a no-load speed of 10,000 RPM, consistent with BESGEER’s other models. The premium metal and wood carpet trimmer is included, along with 20 rolls of yarn, tufting cloth, and backing cloth.

However, this kit has some quality control issues worth noting. Reviewers report that metal frame pieces can arrive with metal shavings that need cleaning before assembly. The frame assembly directions are reportedly poor, which adds setup time. Some users also mention the trimmer blade can melt during extended use, requiring breaks to let it cool.

With 157 reviews and a 4.1-star rating, this is the lowest-rated BESGEER kit on the list. The large frame is appealing, but the quality control issues bring the score down. The customer support team reportedly responds well when issues arise.

Best for makers who need a large working frame

The 39.37 x 39.37 inch frame is the largest in this roundup, making this kit ideal for tufters who plan to make large area rugs or multiple rugs simultaneously on the same frame.

Not ideal for those who want a smooth out-of-box experience

Between the metal shavings to clean, confusing assembly directions, and potential trimmer overheating, this kit requires more patience and troubleshooting than others on this list. If you want a plug-and-play experience, look elsewhere.

8. zowwfast Rug Tufting Gun Starter Kit with Digital Screen

The zowwfast kit stands out immediately because of the digital screen. Instead of turning a knob and guessing your speed, you get a touch screen display that shows your speed setting from 1 to 10. This is the most user-friendly speed control interface I have used on a tufting gun at this price point.

The gun does 2-in-1 cut and loop pile with a loop height range of 4-14mm and a cut pile range of 7-19mm. The speed runs from 5-40 stitches per second with a 10,000 RPM no-load motor. The anti-slip handle is designed for extended use without hand fatigue.

The kit includes the carpet trimmer, tufting cloth, and basic accessories. With 75 reviews and a 4.4-star rating, buyers appreciate the digital display and beginner-friendly operation. The kit is reportedly easy to learn, which is a plus for first-time tufters.

One downside is that the power plug is US-only, so international buyers need an adapter. A few users also reported the small oil bottle arriving empty, which is a minor quality control issue but worth checking when your kit arrives.

Best for beginners who want precise speed control

The digital touch screen display makes this the easiest gun to control for someone new to tufting. You can see exactly what speed you are running and make fine adjustments without guesswork.

Not ideal for international users without a plug adapter

The US-only plug limits this kit’s appeal outside North America. If you need global voltage support with a compatible plug, the BESGEER or Vehipa kits are better suited for international use.

9. Vehipa Cordless Tufting Gun Kit with Carpet Trimmer

The Vehipa cordless kit has the highest rating on this list at 4.8 stars, and it earns that score with an impressive battery setup. The kit includes two 16.8V 10Ah high-capacity lithium batteries, each providing 4-5 hours of runtime. That is up to 10 hours of total tufting time on a single charge cycle.

Charging takes 2.5 hours per battery, which is fast given the 10Ah capacity. The gun runs at 5-40 stitches per second with a 10,000 RPM idling speed. The 2-in-1 cut and loop pile functionality is standard, and the kit includes the carpet trimmer, 20 rolls of yarn, and tufting cloth.

The cordless design makes this kit genuinely portable. You can tuft outdoors, at workshops, or anywhere without worrying about finding a power outlet. The 8.3-pound weight is reasonable for a cordless model, though some users note it feels heavier than expected compared to corded alternatives.

With 22 reviews and a 4.8-star rating, this is a newer product that early buyers love. The small review count means the sample size is limited, but the initial feedback is strongly positive across the board.

Best for tufters who want maximum battery runtime

The dual 10Ah batteries give you up to 10 hours of combined runtime, which is the best battery capacity on this list. If you tuft for long sessions or take your setup on the go, this kit handles both scenarios well.

Not ideal for complex carved designs as a beginner

Reviewers mention a learning curve for creative designs, meaning the gun works great for straightforward tufting but may take practice for more intricate carved patterns. Start simple and build your skills before attempting detailed work.

10. Vehipa Rug Tufting Gun Kit with Carpet Trimmer

This Vehipa kit is one of the most popular tufting kits on Amazon, ranking in the top tier of rug punch supplies. The 2-in-1 cut and loop pile gun comes with 20 rolls of yarn, tufting cloth, and backing cloth, along with the carpet trimmer for finishing.

The gun features adjustable speed and pile head height, a 360-degree adjustable auxiliary handle, and a safety protection system that includes over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection. At roughly 3 pounds for the gun itself, it is one of the lighter options on this list.

The lightweight design is a real advantage during long tufting sessions. Less weight means less wrist fatigue, which matters when you are working on a large rug for several hours. The safety protection system gives peace of mind, especially for beginners who are still learning proper handling.

With 658 reviews and a 4.4-star rating, this is a well-validated and popular choice. It shares the Vehipa platform’s reliability at a competitive price point. The kit also includes tufting cloth and backing cloth, so you are ready to start your first project.

Best for makers who prioritize a lightweight gun

At approximately 3 pounds for the gun, this is one of the lightest tufting guns on the list. If wrist fatigue is a concern during long sessions, this kit’s weight advantage makes a noticeable difference.

Not ideal for those who need a frame or finishing tools

This kit does not include a tufting frame or extra finishing tools like brushes and squeegees. If you want a more complete package with those additions, the Vehipa rug tufting kit with brushes (product 2 on this list) or the BESGEER 2025 frame kit are better options.

How to Choose the Best Tufting Gun with Carpet Trimmer

Choosing from the best tufting guns with carpet trimmers included comes down to understanding a few key factors. I have broken down what matters most so you can make a confident decision based on how you plan to use your gun.

Cut Pile vs Loop Pile: What You Need to Know

Cut pile creates a smooth, plush surface where each yarn strand stands individually. Loop pile creates a textured, bumpy surface where yarn forms connected loops. Every gun on this list handles both modes via a 2-in-1 design, which is why 2-in-1 functionality is the standard for modern tufting kits.

If you know you only want one style, you can buy a dedicated single-mode gun. But the 2-in-1 kits on this list give you both options for roughly the same price, so there is little reason to limit yourself.

Pile Height Range

Most guns on this list offer an adjustable cut pile height of 7-21mm and a loop pile height of 4-14mm. Shorter pile heights (7-10mm) work well for detailed designs and wall hangings. Taller pile heights (15-21mm) create plush, shaggy rugs that feel luxurious underfoot.

If you plan to make high-pile rugs, confirm the maximum pile height before buying. The zowwfast kit lists its ranges explicitly at 4-14mm loop and 7-19mm cut, which is a useful reference point.

Speed and Motor Power

Every gun on this list operates at 5-40 stitches per second with a 10,000 RPM no-load speed. This is the standard for electric tufting guns in this price range. The difference is in how you control that speed.

Look for adjustable speed control, whether via a knob (BESGEER, Riiai), a digital display (zowwfast), or a touch screen. Lower speeds (5-15 stitches per second) are better for learning and detail work. Higher speeds (30-40 stitches per second) cover large areas quickly once you are comfortable.

Corded vs Cordless Design

Corded guns are lighter and never run out of battery, but the cable can tangle in your cloth and limit movement. Cordless guns offer freedom of movement but add weight and have a finite runtime before recharging.

The BESGEER cordless (product 4) and Vehipa cordless (product 9) are the two cordless options on this list. If you work on large rugs or in spaces without convenient outlets, cordless is worth the extra weight. If you tuft at a dedicated workstation near an outlet, a corded gun is simpler and lighter.

What to Look for in a Carpet Trimmer

The carpet trimmer is the tool that shapes and finishes your rug after tufting. A good trimmer should have adjustable speed settings (the BESGEER 2025 kit offers six speeds), quality blades (the Riiai uses titanium and ceramic), and comfortable ergonomics for extended carving sessions.

Forum users on Reddit frequently mention that cheap trimmers struggle with thicker yarn and can melt during extended use. If the trimmer in your kit feels inadequate, upgrading to a dedicated pet grooming clipper with titanium blades is a common community recommendation.

Noise Level Considerations for Apartment Tufting

Tufting guns are loud enough that apartment dwellers should plan around noise. The motor, needle action, and yarn punching create a constant mechanical hum that travels through walls. If you live in an apartment, plan to tuft during daytime hours and consider a dedicated workspace away from shared walls.

No competitor currently publishes decibel ratings for tufting guns, which is a gap in the market. Based on community feedback, all electric tufting guns produce similar noise levels in the range of a sewing machine or a hair clipper. There is no truly quiet option available.

Kit Completeness: What Should Be Included

A complete tufting starter kit should include the gun, carpet trimmer, tufting cloth, backing cloth, yarn, and basic tools like scissors and clips. The most complete kits on this list are the BESGEER 2025 frame kit (includes a frame and 42 yarn rolls) and the Vehipa kit with brushes (includes finishing tools).

The one item most kits leave out is the tufting frame. Only two kits on this list include a frame: the BESGEER 2025 (29.5 x 29.5 inch) and the BESGEER metal frame kit (39.37 x 39.37 inch). If your kit does not include a frame, you will need to build or buy one separately before you can start tufting.

Final Thoughts on Tufting Guns with Carpet Trimmers

The best tufting guns with carpet trimmers included give you everything needed to go from an empty frame to a finished rug in one purchase. The BESGEER Rug Tufting Gun Kit (B0CNWVZMXV) remains our top pick for its proven 4.6-star rating, complete kit contents, and 2-in-1 versatility. For cordless freedom, the Vehipa Cordless kit (B0GTVML4R6) leads with a 4.8-star rating and dual 10Ah batteries.

Whichever kit you choose, the carpet trimmer is what turns a tufted surface into a polished rug. Start with simpler designs, practice your speed and pressure, and let the trimmer do the finishing work. Happy tufting in 2026.
